Jennifer Ament is a multi-media artist working in printmaking, painting, and mural commissions. She creates surreal images based on the exploration of our perceived realities. The work evolves over time as she strives to voice the concerns of art that are relevant to society at large. Ament was born in 1968 in Savannah Georgia. Her interest in art and expression came early in life but finding the right form took longer. Drawn toward anything anti-establishment, looking for the ugly in the beauty and the beauty in the ugliness, she found herself living in Seattle, deeply influenced by the grunge scene of the early 90’s. It was here that she began her art career in earnest and began to gain recognition. Ament’s linocut prints and encaustic paintings have been featured in solo and group show exhibitions throughout the U.S. including: The Seattle Art Fair, Pulse Miami, Out of Sight and The Vera Project. Commercial work includes: Starbucks Stores throughout the world, Frankie and Jo’s, The Derschang Group, and a Wine label for Grand Coeur Wines. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Seattle Magazine, City Arts, Gray Magazine, Luxe Magazine, and many online publications.
