In this image, I am working with some symbolism around metamorphosis to represent the birth of something hatching from fertile earth. The larger figure is intended to represent the protective and forgiving energy of Metta which means positive energy and kindness toward others. Through my own life experience and my experience in parenting, I am often reflecting on how much humans need love and nurturing to grow.

The emerging figure is also not fully developed - it has some layers removed or unformed and this symbolically represents our complex and incomplete development process. We are still unfolding and developing throughout life.
