THE YEAR OF SMALL THINGS: a solo exhibition of works by Rachel Campbell
ZINC contemporary is pleased to present a solo exhibition, THE YEAR OF SMALL THINGS, new oil paintings by artist Rachel Campbell. In this series, Campbell examines the small, unexpected, and unique fragments of time that bring us inspiration and joy.
The artist characterizes the collection as a continuation of her previous work configuring everyday scenes into the spotlight. “As always, they have popped up unexpectedly, and there has been a sense in which I have had to fight for them--to find them and see them. And they have been small, sometimes literally. There is that usual sense in them of resilience, and uniqueness. My moments are not clichéd. But they are real and deserve to be celebrated and have brought me real joy", states Campbell.
THE YEAR OF SMALL THINGS will include oil paintings that frame the past year of isolation through a lens of optimism with an appreciation for the curious and unassuming events of everyday life.
